it has been a long time since I last blogged-work pressure has kept me away.
we have as I wrote last moved to Delhi from Mumbai.While in Mumbai one never really liked the place.The sheer scale of the poverty in the from of the slums which never left your sight was extremely depressing. The buildings were uniformly rundown,the roads bumpy,the traffic choatic.But having left Mumbai we remember the place fondly.Mumbai tends to grow on you.We remember the wonderful cultural climate-the range of performers we got to see,the plays,the music performances,in Shanmukanada,Nehru auditorium,Tata theatre,in the Gateway,the Kala Ghoda festival,the IPL matches including the final in the magnificient Nerul stadium,the wonderful taxi service ever available and safe,the people,so aloof yet friendly and helpful.Yeah we miss Mumbai.more so after comimg to Delhi with its rough populace,complete lack of public transport ,the taxis which are rare to find and expensive and unsafe;the theatres which are so small apart from Siri fort which though big,has nobody to regulate the crowds or the vehicles and ends up being a bad experience.But I guess one will end up getting used to this place too-time is a great factor.
